Does your young adult need help with finding work, help budgeting finances, or maybe is just in need of more social opportunities? Life With the Spectrum sits down with life coach and consultant, Jane Coburn, to look at what life coaching young adults on the spectrum looks like and why it is so important to have a life coach. With so many adults getting a later in life diagnosis, we also take a peek at what couples counseling looks like when one or both people have autism.
Gosh, I must have been eight or nine years old when I made my first call to a radio station, the legendary KISS-FM out in LA. I requested a song, pushed the play/record button on my boom box to record myself to hear when they played my request.. From that point I knew what I was going to do and my unique sound has helped me out along the way. Fast forward to today, I have been on the mic for almost 30 years doing radio, voice overs, and more. But I am not just the girl behind the microphone. I am a wife, a mom, a friend, and an advocate for all people with disabilities. When I stopped and thought what I could do or how I could help in the world of ASD, I thought why not use my microphone to connect families with resources, tools, organizations, foundations, that maybe they wouldn’t otherwise know about. My husband, super cool Bryan, as he prefers his phone to call him, thought let’s add video. We hit the ground with a cell phone and a vision. Now close to 100 episodes in, Life With the Spectrum is just one of the ways I have reinvented myself and my career.
